1-3 pm HOMESCHOOL CLASSES |
3:30-5:30 Class |
6-8 pm EVENING CLASSES |

Afternoon class learning
navigation using
the sun.
Our homeschool class for children and parents are designed for families to attend together, although ages 7 and above may attend on their own. Class topics follow field exercises from our Wolf Journey Earth Skills Training Course.
Students who complete a field exercise in advance of each class will receive a personal review of their work, as well as tutoring to prepare them for subsequent field exercises. Take a look at Field Exercise 1A - Exploring Potential Study Sites for an example of what would be expected, but not required, as homework between classes.
It is not required to complete field exercises between classes, and further, if you are already engaged in another course of study, you are still very welcome to attend Wolf Journey classes as well, where you can receive insight and guidance into your own course work. Whether or not you follow the Wolf Journey curriculum at home, students are welcome to attend simply to enjoy the topics taught directly in class.
Instructors Kim & Chris Chisholm have a combined 25 year teaching experience including homeschool groups, starting in 1990 when Chris taught middle school classes at Family Unity Int'l in Quito, Ecuador, then teaching music and spanish lessons as well as nature classes for homeschoolers in Bellingham, WA starting in 1995.
Parents are encouraged to email or call us at any time with any questions and requests for references.

Kim & Chris Chisholm are available to teach your family or group any of our topics in King or Snohomish County
from 3:30-5:30 on the dates listed below. Costs run $5 to $25 per person depending on number
of people, your chosen location, and if your topic is the same as what we're teaching at 1:00 and 6:00. Email or call us with questions or to set up a class!

Evening class making cordage
from cedar, raffia, and
fireweed fibers.
Our evening classes for adults, with focused youth welcome, are designed to give specific training to beginners as well as provide professional guidance to advanced students. If you are already engaged in another course of study such as college biology, another naturalist training program or herbal correspondence course, you are very welcome to attend Wolf Journey classes as well, where you can receive insight and guidance into your own course work.
Everyone is welcome to attend simply for the learning contained in each class, while those who complete field exercises from the Wolf Journey Earth Skills Training Course or studies from another program will share their experiences and questions at the start of each class in order to get feedback from instructors Kim & Chris Chisholm who are themselves also working through the Wolf Journey field exercises that Chris has been writing since 1998 and blogging since 2009. Take a look at Field Exercise 1A - Exploring Potential Study Sites for an example of what would be suggested, but not required, to study between classes.
Each class will also focus on the Earth Skill Topics (below) based on the season and group interest. We're sure you will enjoy Wolf Journey classes as well as receive many pearls of ecological learning and traditional skills training. We're so confident of that, that you just need just say the word, and we'll refund your first class fee, no question, if you aren't satisfied!

Packing List for Daytime Outings
___ Drink water, eat a snack, and use the bathroom before arriving.
___ Lunch, using zip-locks, tupperware, and other reusable containers to reduce trash.
___ Depending on the weather, bring sunscreen, sunhat, and hat for warmth, thermal socks, thin gloves, water shoes, or shoes or boots that can get dirty.
___ Although we always try to keep clothes and footwear as dry as possible, please allow the clothesto get dirty and become "nature" clothes for forest exploration. Take a trip to Value Village or the Salvation Army or another used clothing store to find such clothes if necessary. Long-sleeve pants and a long-sleeve shirt are recommended. Earth-tone (natural) shades of clothing (e.g. browns and greens) are best and clothes which are "quiet" as they brush against things.
___ Remember that cotton clothing is comfortable, but worthless if it gets wet. Rain gear is recommended on cold, wet wintery days. Fleece, wool, polypropylene, or nylon pullovers are always great for classes.
___ Journaling materials for those working on the Wolf Journey Earth Skills Training Course.
___ Optional: Materials are normally included in class fees, but adults may buy recommended books and our Frost Mora survival knives for a $25 donation to our Max Davis Scholarships fund. Youth need to pass our Level III safety test before buying a knife. We also have journal materials, binoculars, field guides, instruments, extra sanitary supplies, water bottles, rain ponchos, compasses, and of course sunscreen available when necessary for use.
Lost & Found Policy: We do try to return lost items in person the next time we see you, or leave them somewhere to be picked up. However, we don't have the time or resources to send things to you. Instead, you can pick up lost items from the Wolf Campus in Puyallup for up to 90 days after your program is over. Otherwise, forgotten items will be picked up by charity. To help avoid loosing things, please put your name on every item you bring. For clothes, print your name on the tag. Thank you!
